Cornish Girls / Mowysi Kernow / Trip To Truro

Title

Cornish Girls / Mowysi Kernow / Trip To Truro

Description

W. Arthur, Pascoe was an active member of the Old Cornwall Movement in Liskeard and a native of the nearby village of St Neot. He recalled this song for Inglis Gundry in the 1960s as it had been sung in the London Inn St Neot in the late 19th Century by miners from the nearby Slate Caverns and farm labourers. As Mowysi Kernow it is played as a dance tune and a version called Trip To Truro appears in an 18th century dance manual.
