The poignant Padstow Farwel Shanty is a popular song to round off a Cornish singing session. The lyrics originate from a nineteenth century chapbook. They were set to music by Alan Molyneaux and popularised by Mervyn Vincent of Padstow in the 1960s. Since then the song has become a regular part ofCornish singing tradition.
